What Does a Health and Safety Risk Assessment Cover?

A health and safety risk assessment is a structured review of workplace activities, tasks and hazards. It considers who may be harmed, how they may be affected and whether existing control measures are suitable and sufficient.

If you are an employer, you have a legal duty to assess the risks to the health and safety of your employees and anyone else who may be affected by your work activities. Risk assessments should reflect the actual activities and hazards within your workplace and should be reviewed if there is reason to believe they are no longer valid or following a significant change.
